NOVE is a visual artist and muralist based in São Paulo, Brazil. As a contributor to urban art since 1999, he is renowned for applying unique techniques to weave together influences derived from nature and technology into his aesthetic. NOVE expresses nature through his prominent use of water, which he combines with precise angles to create the contrast and synchronization between digital and organic elements. NOVE utilizes various mediums and raw materials, including wood, metal, and textiles as well as site specific components found in urban settings to create his works of art. Creating symmetry from his geometric compositions, NOVE uses graphics, light, and a juxtaposition of vibrant colors to create the visual experiences found in his work.
In 2009, NOVE was featured in his first self-titled solo exhibition at Choque Cultural Gallery in São Paulo, Brazil. This exhibition was followed by his participation in several group exhibits internationally, including in Dubai, Basel, London, and New York.
In an effort to foster greater appreciation and respect for public art, NOVE began focusing on painting large-scale murals in 2010, which has afforded him global recognition and the opportunity to paint murals across Europe, North America, and Brazil.
NOVE has been featured in such notable publications as Vogue Brasil, Folha de São Paulo, Estética Marginal, Nuevo Mundo, Abstract Graffiti, Untitled III, Spacedepartment, RG, Casa Magazine, Casa Wish, Mapa of Arts among many others.
In addition to his work as an artist, NOVE is an educator of visual arts at various institutions in São Paulo, Brazil. NOVE contributes to education by holding creative workshops and seminars in schools, which focus on painting, drawing, urban art, and multimedia installations.
